How did we get here?
Well, that's another story.
As Trump continues to expose his ignorance and arrogance, it seems increasingly unlikely that he will have much of a chance for a November victory.
Although one should never discount the impact of Hillary Clinton's campaign incompetence -- coupled with her career of cynical shape-shifting that turns off more and more each day -- a Trump victory seems increasingly impossible.
So that leaves us with Clinton II.
Her capture of the White House is frightening enough.
But the likelihood of a wide margin of victory will no doubt result in a claim of a mandate. Clinton will take a big win as an affirmation of the sleazy sellout of anything liberal or progressive.
That means more Wall Street impunity, more kowtowing to the corporations and the 1 percent and more war (and the subsequent slaughter of more innocents).
Same as it ever was.
Well, not really.
Trump is horrible enough. But he would at least rally an opposition that could find its way to unite and eventually lead us to a much better America
But what he's likely to leave us is a Hillary Clinton mad with power and with little restraint as liberals are left powerless and silenced by the lesser-of-two-evils argument.
