It seems like modern gothic on some days.
And as one of my old newspaper editors once said, "It's a great place for news."
But when I lived in Maine (in journalism you go where the jobs are -- or were) my congresswoman was Chellie Pingree. Rep. Pingree remains in the House and continues to be one of best leaders in Congress.
I still get her emails, a refuge of compassion and competence.
But on a day like today -- when those vile gerrymandered Republican degenerates running the House voted to kill my health care -- I am painfully reminded of what I lost in a member of Congress.
My alleged representative now?
None other than that assclown Ted Yoho.
Yoho? He's a leader of the Freedom Caucus, a birther and pretty much adherent to all things crazy in the far-right wing of the Republicans.
And talk about gerrymandered.
His district's biggest city is Gainesville, home of the University of Florida and lots and lots of liberals. But even before he was elected, this seat was the unchallenged home to unhinged Republicans having real problems with reality.
Remember Cliff Stearns, one of the leaders of the GOP war on women?
So, Chellie Pingree, I just wanted to let you know how much a one-time Mainer really misses you.
And thank you.
And stay away from Yoho.
