Three very different men, yet all three presidents afflicted with the same arrogance and hubris when it comes to this war on so-called terrorism.
(Or rather, a war on Muslims.)
This time -- and again -- in Yemen.
Obama planned it, but Trump signed off on it and even praised it.
Some laptops and cellphones that may hold helpful information.
A dead American soldier, others injured and a $75 million U.S. aircraft destroyed.
But perhaps most troubling is that it now appears likely there were civilian casualties, possibly including children.
A whole village was destroyed.
And no doubt some of those who survived or lost loved ones will become soldiers against America.
Reports indicate an incredible amount of sloppiness in the planning and even the execution of the raid.
It's been more than 40 years since we fled our criminal war against Vietnam.
And we still don't get it.
There is only solution:
Pull every soldier from every country from North Africa to Afghanistan and Pakistan. And end all aid -- and not just military aid -- to every country that refuses to uphold the basic human rights of its citizens and refugees forced to flee there.
And, yes, that list should include Israel.
No doubt, such policy will result in more bloodshed and civilian deaths. But without American intervention for Big Oil, Israel and other forces of unrestrained capitalism, a balance eventually will be found.
And some day, the actual inhabitants of these lands will have their destinies once again in their own lands.
But what of Russia or China, won't they fill "the vacuum?"
A realistic and to-be-feared alternative.
But America killing more and more innocents is not the answer -- for Muslims and Americans.
As painful as a total and complete withdrawal may be initially, staying and continuing our savagery will make it ever worse with no end in sight.
