Just like during the Cuban Missile Crisis (When the US hid the fact that American missiles were in Turkey on the Russian border), America's aggressive drive toward Russia in Eastern Europe (including election interference) is hardly ever mentioned.
And anyone who has a passing knowledge of Russian history knows that the issue of Ukraine and the Crimea is a long and difficult one. (Which isn't helped by a US-supported coup in Ukraine, no matter how corrupt the previous government.)
At the same time, Putin and his cronies are thugs who murder journalists and other critics who dare to question them -- along with other Russians under the guise of terrorism.
At a time when we desperately need leaders who understand the many nuances in relations between Russia and the US, we get simpletons from across the entire political spectrum (from Trump to Rachel Maddow) who only serve up their knee-jerk idiocy and rabid delusions.
