As he hinted at when he ran in 2008, Obama wasn't all that much different in many ways than Ronald Reagan.
Like Bill Clinton before him, Obama harmed true liberalism in America more than anything the Republicans and conservatives could do.
So I have great sympathy for those denouncing the former president's decision to speak at a health care conference organized by Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald for $400,000.
But let's wait until after he speaks.
Who knows, he could truly speak truth to power and go off on Trump, Wall Street, ever expanding economic inequality and greed, and the urgent need for health care for every American.
Huey Long used to joke about raking in all that Big Money and then sticking -- or at least appear to be sticking -- it to the special interests.
Sure, it's doubtful, but you never know.
Save the criticism until after Obama speaks.
It will make the condemnations even more valid.
